The thinking is that over a long enough weekly and monthly chart, every ank eventually takes its turn, so keeping a tidy count of the longest-absent numbers tells you which ones may be due for a revival.

To keep a clean band-weak count, most chart readers maintain a small table for each market:

• Absence count — how many draws each ank (0–9) has stayed shut.
• Weak zone — the two or three ank that are appearing rarely but not fully band.
• Return pattern — whether a band number usually comes back on open first or close first.

By reading the band and weak columns together you narrow a huge board down to a handful of candidates worth watching, which is the real purpose of the exercise.
